What Are The Seven Chakras And What Do They Mean
Throughout our busy schedules, we have moments when we stop and take a look at our lives. While we think back at our days we have an opportunity to take into account how we really feel. That’s when we realize we are stressed, anxious and have not taken care of ourselves. When we are depleted, stress takes over our minds and bodies, and before we even realize it we have physically and mentally degraded our “operating systems”. How do we get back to our best selves? How do we reboot? Boosting your chakras provides the perfect solution to awaken your senses, release energy and heal your body and mind. Are you ready to feel refreshed, energized, and healthy again?
The human body consists of seven basic chakras. Four chakras lie in the upper body and regulate intellectual properties. The other three lie in the lower body and supervise the instinctual properties.
The seven chakras are as follows:
The Root Chakra
It is all about being aware of your physical self and being comfortable in your skin. When open, you will feel secure, sensible, and stable. You won't trust anyone unnecessarily and will live in the present. A less active root chakra may make you nervous and fearful, whereas an overactive root chakra may make you materialistic and greedy.
The Sacral Chakra
This chakra controls the sexual needs of your body. When open, it leads to a smooth flow of sexual energy. Getting into a relationship will be comfortable and you will also be in touch with your passion around work and life. If under-active, you may lose interest and feel devoid of emotions. If overactive, you may become over-emotional, sensitive and have a constant need for attention.
The Solar Plexus Chakra
The solar plexus chakra is among the most important chakras. It deals with confidence, makes you feel dignified, and offers a sense of control over things. When your solar plexus chakra is blocked, then you may be indecisive and passive whereas an overactive solar plexus chakra may make you aggressive.
The Heart Chakra
The heart chakra brings about feelings of love, care, and affection. When active, you’ll be friendly, and compassionate, with many cordial relationships in your life. When this chakra is blocked, you may be unfriendly and cold. An overactive heart chakra may even lead you to smother people with your love.
The Throat Chakra
This chakra deals with communication and self-expression. When opened, the throat chakra helps in easing expression. Your ability to share ideas and creativity may emerge allowing greater self-expression. When this chakra isn’t activated you may become shy, speak less, and sometimes distort the truth both in your words and in your listening. If overactive, you will speak more and listen less, which may annoy many people.
The Third Eye Chakra
This chakra determines insight and offers amazing intuition and the sixth sense of things. When this chakra isn’t active enough, you may become confused, and rely on beliefs, which can sometimes be misleading. If overactive, you may start living in an imaginative world, daydream or sometimes-even check out.
The Crown Chakra
This chakra is responsible for spirituality and wisdom. Opening up this chakra means that you have become aware of yourself as well as everything around you and have a connection with it. When this chakra is blocked, you may have rigid thoughts. When the crown chakra is more than active than usual, you may become extremely spiritual and may even forget the basic body needs—food, shelter, and water.
To lead a healthy and blissful life, it is essential to balance all seven chakras. Performing various Yoga asanas and meditation can help in achieving this.
