• Third from the physical body
• Represents thoughts, cognitive processes and state of mind
• Bright yellow in color
• 3 to 8 inches from the body
• Connected to the Solar plexus Chakra
• Vibrates at the frequency of thoughts, belief systems, ego and sense of self
• Where your gut instincts reside, and commitment to a goal or creative process
• Where you are discerning and judgmental
• Often radiates the strongest around the head, neck and shoulders
• Stronger in those who engage in mental tasks or those who have an over-active mind
• When engaging in a creative activity, colored sparks can also be seen flowing from this layer

The Mental Layer or Third Layer of your Aura is like a communication hub from which self consciousness can be brought to your soul's experience of creation. When too developed it can thwart the layers above and below. Since the heart and emotions are best when expansive staying aware of how your mental activities like reading, writing and working affect your body is helpful.
