10 Things that Boost Our Moods
We love compiling lists and we're delighted when asked how we boost our moods. Jim & I have many things we do each day as individuals. But as life partners, we have merged many of our interests and are happy to share our list with you.
In our home you will find dozens of crystal grids. Jim is an engineer but loves chi energy work, and he creates grids and spends time energizing and tending to them. We have grids for Abundance and grids for Meditation, grids for love and grids for protection. We have even made our bed a grid and have crystals under our mattress to keep us safe and help us while we dream. As we built up our crystal collection, we brought in several larger pieces, mainly skulls. Jim attracts the crystals he needs most for his energy practice and loves the hunt. As an intuitive, I have the ability to meditate with the new pieces and provide information on how he should use them, which stones go together and what to name them. Our collection includes: Amelie a rose quartz dragon skull, Freddie a large clear quartz skull, and Baby Monster an ancient Jade amulet from Sichuan gifted by a famous collector and family friend. Grids boost our moods because they are vibrational, colorful and provide us with a way to continue to learn about crystal energy. We are excited to have added both grids and loose crystals to the store.
Sacral Belly Rubs
As we work with the chakra modality, more and more in the store, we started to notice how the sacral breathing and visualization impacted me. Women tend to have a need for more sacral balancing due to our hormonal changes and the way we store emotional energy in our stomachs and reproductive organs. As I "fluffed" my stomach dozens of times each day, demonstrating sacral healing, I started to reap the benefits. I showed Jim what I did and rubbed his belly and breathed in orange energy and he also felt great. We now make sure we do sacral belly healings with each other as often as possible. We keep our Chakra Healing Lotion Candle 2, near the bed to enjoy a warm massage along the way. The scent of citrus and floral top notes of blood orange, ylang ylang and jasmine anchor our ritual of sacral chakra healing and amp up our self love.
We love to cook when we have the time and energy. From the simplest of meals like spaghetti with meatless balls, to my sweet onion quiche, having been raised in France gives my cooking a range that I might not otherwise have had. Confident in blending flavors and recreating things I find cooking to be relaxing and enjoy eating food that vibrates at our same energy level. I come from a family of great cooks, but am proud to have raised a Chef. My son watched me and my mom in the kitchen and decided he wanted to cook and trained at the Culinary Institute of America. Food is so important to a family and passing on our food culture is such a mood booster. Every meal Jim lights a candle and we hold hands and are grateful for our bounty. Lately we have been trying every one of our Gemstone Chakra Candles and we love them all.
Dogs and Cats
I have always had pets and need their calming loving energy to smooth over my ambitions and desire for constant productivity. At times I have had up to 7 pets, but today, we are too busy and travel enough that it's not the right time to anchor with a pet. No problem, we co-care for Comet, my basset-cattle dog. Comet used to spend every day with me at our factory. Now that I am in the store daily he gets to stay home with his dad. He's such a social and healing dog that the mail man asks for him every time he comes by. We also take care of a neighbor's cat and our "granddog" Precious, who stays with us at the store from time to time. When we decided to do aura readings we made sure we could include pets and are so proud of the Dog and Cat auras we have captured.
We love to travel and every year have a few trips planned. Last year Covid cancelled all of our adventures. So instead we opened Adoratherapy at the Grove Arcade. When we travel, we always include New York, where my kids and mom live, San Francisco where Jim's grand kids live and Miami, where my dad lives. Where are we going next? We'd love to take a cruise. It's the best way to get me to put my phone down. Paris will be next too. Jim and I are looking forward to many more trips to far and exotic destinations as soon as it is safe to do so.
We both love to read and you will always find us with a pile of books. We read different books and share what we discover. Reading allows us to have time alone and be more introspective. Reading is such a great way to stimulate the third eye. I always find the next book through intuition and it's magical to be 100 pages in and realize you are reading exactly what you need to be to improve, grow and heal. When we read, we have our spots in the house: Jim has an Eames chair near the sliding windows onto our patio and I have a vintage armchair right by his side. When I want more time alone, I linger in bed, avoiding responsibility for as long as I can. My go to product for reading time is Tranquility Chakra Boost, to open my crown and allow me to receive more information. Want to know what we have read lately? Reach out and ask us.
We are avid knowledge seekers and sign up for classes and workshops when we can. Jim studies reiki, meditation, crystals, energy work and healing. I tend to focus on entrepreneurship and business. We enjoy Mindvalley masterclasses and Foundr programs. We sometimes volunteer to teach as well, as sometimes teaching is the best way to learn. During Covid, I shared a 12 weeks instagram class with my favorite people. Recently I participated in a 6 month coaching program on burn out hosted by Atlas VC. More often than not, if there is a bootcamp or accelerator that I can learn from, I am all in. To be present to learn, after a long day, I often spray Clear Away to reboot and send my intention for shifting energy from working to learning.
We have close families and enjoy spending time with our parents, siblings and grown children. Everyone is scattered around and we used to be able to visit regularly. With the store we are required to be constantly present. No problem, everyone is willing to come visit Asheville. With the offer of an aura reading and some great meals downtown, it's not a hard sell. Everyone in the family gets a goodie bag when they visit. When they are not able to visit we bring the mood boosts to them. What are their favorites? Abundance Room Boost and Vitality Chakra Boost. This family likes to be grounded and energized.
Living with an Audiophile is amazing. Jim loves sound and is extremely interested in music from vinyl to digital. Jim hears the nuances of speakers and tube amps. I just hear music. That is until I heard music the way Jim thinks it should be heard, in the sweet spot. The sweet spot is the perfect distance between the speakers and your chair. We listen to Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday and the Eagles to Beverly Copeland. We turn on music the minute we get home. We dance while we cook, listen when we read and eat. The music is always on unless someone is on the phone. In that case Jim turns it off. Music is made for listening to. Jim puts on Communication Chakra Boost when he is actively listening, opening his throat chakra to tune into to the good vibes.
Something about a bath, for me that's the only way to go. After standing on my feet all day, I come home, and hit the tub as soon as I can. I love me a very hot bath. Jim was reluctant at first, but once he got in he was hooked. We love to use epson salts and after going through bags of the drugstore kind we decided to make our own bath salts instead. When we launched the Alkemie Collection we made sure to include bath soaks. We launched with Chakra number 2 for the sacral, Chakra number 4 for the heart and Chakra number 7 for the crown.
