The creation of an Adoratherapy Mood Boost is a complex journey that moves from farm to shelf, and is touched by the hands of many masters. How does it all happen? Our Mood Boost collection was envisioned by master formulator, Adora Winquist.
Adora Winquist is a renowned transformative healer, inspiring teacher and award winning essential oil formulator. Her upcoming book focuses on natural medicine to heal the whole body. A graduate of the acclaimed Barbara Brennan School of Healing, she has practiced her alchemy of healing arts focusing on healing trauma to access greater physical vibrancy, emotional resilience and the actuation of the individual’s life purpose. We developed our unique formulas to inspire a woman’s many moods. From stress-free to tranquility to joy to beautiful to seductive. Mood Boost aromatherapy provides a pathway for women to access and experience any memory or emotion they choose.
An inhaled aroma travels through the olfactory system, to the brain, and then to the limbic system. This triggers an autonomic response, impacting mood, memories and emotions. The challenge in the art & science of aromatherapy, is to choose the right plant aromas to trigger the desired mood and feelings. Mood Boost aromas are created using unique blends of essential oils, each ingredient sourced by a master.
At Adoratherapy our sourcing methods are rooted in integrity and conscious practices that ensure the quality of our raw materials as well as the methods in which they are produced. Our essential oil selection process offers the highest quality available in the global marketplace with primary selection certified organic, then bio dynamic.
Know your Source
For an aromatherapy product to be of the highest quality, the oil’s source is one of the most important selection facets. Once an essential oil is distilled and begins its journey to a popular product on the shelf, there are many points where adulteration takes place. A trustworthy source can take years to obtain.
Know Your Botany
Knowledge of the latin name is imperative to be certain of what goes into your end product. For example Lavendula angustifolia varies great both chemically and aromatically from another species of Lavender known as Lavendula spica. Our proprietary lavender is a custom blend Adoratherapy’s “Nose” has formulated and is comprised of organic Lavender (Lavendula angustifola) from France, Kashmir and Bulgaria. This formula of Lavender is unique to ADORAtherapy.
Organoleptic properties are the aspects of food, water or other substances that an individual experiences via the senses—including taste, sight, smell, and touch. Aromatherapists are trained in organoleptic testing to help identify potential adulterants and extenders. The sense of smell, taste, feel, and look of essential oils can expose important information about its quality and whether it should be used in clinical aromatherapy. As part of the Rutger’s University Advanced International Essential Oil program, Adora was trained in this skill set.
Gas chromatography (GC) / mass spectrometry (MS) Back Up
ADORAtherapy collects all pertinent scientific back up for their essential oils including GC/MSDS documentations. Gas chromatography (GC), mass spectrometry (MS), and similar additive-revealing techniques can analyze the constituents in oils. It is a technique that separates the components of an essential oil according to the differences in molecular volume. It provides a fingerprint of the oil, yet is not always conclusive. A GC will identify the presence and relative quantities of chemical constituents within an essential oil.
Essential oils need to be properly stored in cool temperatures, away from direct sunlight and bottle headspace kept reduced to disallow oxidation, similar to what occurs with wine as it is left opened.
And finally, our essential oil blends are "tweaked" to bring out their true aromatic intention. Mood Boosts are handcrafted: formulated, blended, bottled, packed and shipped to your store shelf fro our factory in Asheville North Carolina.
